 Will reflexology help me?

Reflexologists cannot claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.  Reflexology is a very individual treatment which works with you holistically, so it is not possible to know in advance how you will react.  The theory is that reflexology helps the body to restore its balace naturally.  Usually, you might feel relaxed and tension might be reduced after a treatment; you may sleep better and you may notice a feeling of improved mood and general well-being.  You may also find that other aspects improve too, but this happens on an individual basis.

There have been some positive research projects carried out with reflexology but there is not a large enough body of evidence for the Association of Reflexologists to make clinical claims of effectiveness.

With ever increasing levels of stress, it is important for people to take more responsibility for their own healthcare needs.  Reflexology may be one of the ways to reduce the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.
